The third annual Baltic Sea Region 5G ecosystem forum 5G Techritory 2020 will be held in Riga on November 11-12, 2020 and will put a spotlight on a year of experience after the tentative rollout of 5G technology in the region. This year's 5G Techritory will be held virtually through a custom-built digital conferencing platform. Only registered and confirmed attendees will be granted access to the platform. The event itself is free of charge. Registration: https://www.5gtechritory.com/registration

The event will bringing together the world’s top 5G players - industry leaders, policy makers, technology innovators - to set up the 5G agenda in the Baltic Sea Region and beyond. The event's focus will be retrospective, yet with a course set towards the future–what needs to be done to accelerate 5G innovations. This year's topic: “A year of 5G: Learning from experience, adjusting for the future”. In 2019 5G Techritory discussed the expectations for a massive and innovative industry shift as mobile operators were gearing up for rolling out 5G.  After one year of 5G, we'll be looking at what went wrong, what went well, and how to move forward.

One of the panel discussions "What are the mega trends influencing 5G?" at the 5G Techritory forum will be organized by Nordic Councils of Ministers and will take place on 11 November, 18:50-19:35 (CET). The discussion will be moderated by Maija Kāle, Adviser of the Nordic Council of Ministers' Office in Latvia on Sustainability, Circular Economy, Digitalisation and Energy. Three outstanding women will take part in the discussion: Sofia Elamson, Adviser at Nordic Energy Research, an organisation that aims at strengthening cooperative energy research and policy development between the Nordic and Baltic countries, Elīna Lidere, 5G Innovation Lead at LMT and Leslie Shannon, Head of Ecosystem and Trend Scouting at Nokia.

The discussion will seek answers to the questions of why is envisioning the future important and how can we think about it, how do we differentiate trends from noise and whose voices speak the loudest? In this panel, three distinguished female leaders working in sectors with low female representation - 5G and energy - will share their understanding of the key megatrends that will be driving the 5G and digitalization spheres in the next 10-20 years. In addition to offering their future outlooks, the panel participants will also share their thoughts on the crucial steps that need to be taken to make the tech world more inclusive and diverse. The future of 5G is unimaginable without women!"

5G Techitory will feature speakers from Nokia, Qualcomm, Samsung, DOCOMO, AT&T, among others, and confirmed participants include the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the Global mobile Suppliers Association (GSA), the 5G Infrastructure Association (5G-IA), senior officials from the European Commission and the Nordic Council of Ministers. The forum will be opened by Paula Lehtomeki, Secretary General of the Nordic Council of Ministers.
